  Breakfast

  Buffet only

A Globalist family drove out for the Independence Day holiday, when cash rates were about $350 a night, and used 18,000 points a night at the property then operating as the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells, with the $27 nightly parking waived because he was both a Globalist and staying on points. Suites were all occupied over the holiday, so there was no upgrade, and although the ground-floor golf-course-facing room he had requested by email was confirmed in advance, flooding in that wing meant he was instead given third-floor room 2332 and found an unpleasant smell in the flooded corridor. Globalist breakfast at Lantana was included for the family, with both a buffet and open a la carte ordering, and the property has no Regency Club lounge. He liked the staff, breakfast and spa and his children loved the HyTides waterpark in 112-degree heat, but he said the crowded resort was not his kind of place and he would not choose to return himself.

  Upgrade

  Suite, after asking

  Room

  Penthouse (standard suite)

A pre-arrival email ruled out suite upgrades due to heavy occupancy. Asking if that applied to Globalists got the Penthouse suite, but check-in was robotic.
