A Globalist family of four booked an ocean-view room for six nights on a healthcare-worker rate of about $325 per night. Globalist status brought an upgraded room, Grand Club access with breakfast, evening food and daytime snacks, waived resort fees and spa and fitness access. On arrival the room held oversized floaties for their sons and a bottle of wine with a personalized Globalist welcome note for the parents. The writer said the combined savings and recognition for a family were what convinced her Globalist status was worth having earned. The article is a broader essay about earning status, so the Kauai room type and stay month are not pinned down.

A newly minted Globalist booked four nights in July 2021 at 25,000 points per night when the resort was a Category 6 and attached a suite upgrade certificate, which his Hyatt concierge got confirmed once the resort reopened in April. Suite 1029 opened onto grass facing the beach, with a bottle of champagne and a note from the GM waiting for the couple's 25th anniversary. Globalist perks were unusually rich: Grand Club access for breakfast, two free pool-bar drink tickets and a $150 laundry and dry-cleaning credit, of which the couple used about $76. The lounge itself felt underwhelming and the suite had very few power outlets, and because the suite was not free past 11 a.m. on departure day the hotel moved them to a regular day room until 4 p.m. so they could stay until their 8:15 p.m. flight.
