A Globalist stayed with her two children for the first part of a Kyoto trip, paying points at 6,500 to 9,500 per night against typical cash rates of $100 to $200, in a room with two single beds plus an extra bed requested in advance for a child 12 or under. No upgrade outcome was reported. The extensive buffet breakfast, described as the best Hyatt Place breakfast she had ever had with salmon, miso, made-to-order eggs and Japanese and Western options, was complimentary for Globalists, while non-Globalists have paid about $17 per person since summer 2023. She praised the calm design, the location steps from Marutamachi Station, the free Nespresso in the lobby and the coin laundry, and called it unquestionably the nicest Hyatt Place she has experienced.

    Buffet only

A Globalist and his wife spent two nights in the last week of June 2023, paying 12,000 points per night after the property dropped from Category 4 to Category 3 and rebooking from 15,000, against cash rates of about $250 for a 2.1 cents per point value. They had booked a 1 King room and at check-in were told they had been moved to a 1 King Garden View room, room 250, with the agent explaining that Hyatt Place has no formal upgrade program but the move was due to his Globalist status and near-capacity occupancy. Daily breakfast was included at the time and combined a buffet with hot dishes, salad, miso soup and make-your-own sushi. After checkout the hotel found items his wife had left in the bathroom, catalogued them, and shipped them free to their next hotel 250 miles away, arriving two days later.
