Would have preferred a king deluxe. Great hotel and fantastic breakfast, but rates are out of hand and the area is not for families.

Seedy street scene, but it did not matter. Good breakfast, a nice lounge with outdoor seating, a fine pool and good value.

No line into the lounge around 5:30pm. Some guests' manners were poor, but staff stayed calm and kind.

Long club lines at cocktail hour, hall noise through a thin suite door, and noon checkout for the suite only. No plans to return.

Best use of Hyatt points in Bangkok, with a direct link to Nana BTS. The club's evening spread is enough for dinner.

A week on floor 21 with very good staff, service and food. A second booking later that month could not get a suite.

For a final night in Bangkok at $90, a Globalist moved over from the Grand Hyatt and waited until 4 p.m. for the Regency Suite the app had already shown as his upgrade, room 1206 on the 12th floor, rather than take a regular room earlier. The Regency Club happy hour was a la carte rather than a buffet, and breakfast at Market Cafe combined an extensive buffet priced at 600 baht with a full a la carte menu, where he ordered truffle scrambled eggs twice but found the coffee weak and too milky. The stay stayed mixed because the shower and tub water never got hot on either night, despite reporting it at checkout.

A Globalist travelling with his wife and daughter was complimentary upgraded to a one-bedroom King suite, room 1206, on a stay when standard rooms were selling for about $110 to $150 a night and points would have cost 12,000 a night at the then Category 3 hotel. The Regency Club was not yet open, so a makeshift lounge in the Marketplace restaurant served evening dishes and breakfast with egg and noodle stations. Staff left a Thai outfit and a handwritten card for his daughter, a welcome drink and cold towels were offered, and he praised the food and called the hotel excellent value, noting the suite bathroom lacked a bidet seat.

A fantastic use of the award for a week. 4pm checkout meant switching rooms around midday, and the low floor got street noise.
