Treated well, with a Yasaka pagoda view and the champagne happy hour. Early-morning temple visits were a favorite.

Booked one of the hotel's two Park Suites for three nights at peak autumn foliage. The hotel was nearly full, so no further upgrade.

Don't count on an upgrade at any Hyatt tier in this 70-room hotel: neither room got one. The 45 sqm room was spacious and calm.

Service and design were thoroughly impressive. The corner suite faces the street, though, and people walking by can see in.
