The suite would not heat to 69 degrees and maintenance could not fix it on a Saturday night. Probably the Hyatt Regency next time.

Small windows in the living room and bedroom face another building. Limited light, but not so you'd notice.

2 Queens Room (via Chase Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection, about $350 including fees) → 2 Queen room 609, street view
    Breakfast
    Restaurant or F&B credit
    Welcome amenity
    Given

With no World of Hyatt status of her own, the reviewer booked one night in June through Chase's Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection for elite-like benefits. Check-in agent Persephone proactively explained the credits: a $75 hotel credit fully used at The Driskill Bar on four drinks and a snack, and a breakfast at the 1886 Cafe and Bakery that ran about $50 including tip and gifts was credited in full despite a $20 advertised maximum. Early check-in was granted well before the official time, the front desk did not mention an upgrade but the sixth-floor two-queen room 609 had a downtown street view rather than an alley, and complimentary welcome waters were on the desk. Valet was $55 per night and a later shift could not drive her friend's manual car, so they walked to a nearby garage in 100-degree heat to retrieve it, and Wi-Fi was slow, but she called the stay practically flawless and was surprised to earn Hyatt points after signing up at checkout.

    top floor tower room

Fantastic room, and street noise was no issue up top. Better food at the Hyatt Regency Austin midweek, but the Driskill wins on character.

Valet never hit the bill, and the $100 daily breakfast credit at 1886 Cafe worked well. But street noise, a crooked bathroom door, slow drains.

Check-in at 1:30pm, a 2pm checkout offer, and birthday beers and cake for their brother. One of the best US stays despite patchy wifi.

Used an expiring award for a junior suite despite warnings it was not worth it, and got a Landmark Suite instead. Superb.

The larger room was not as small as feared, and the Travel Leaders package included a food-and-beverage credit. Decent service, historic feel, good location.

The tiniest suite ever seen, and regular rooms are very small too. Would never stay again: the Hyatt Regency gave free suite upgrades.

Suite, with a suite upgrade award
    Room
    Standard room → Primrose Suite
    Welcome amenity
    Given

Staying for an Austin MegaDO trip, the reviewer booked a standard room and applied one of his Diamond suite upgrades, after first booking the wrong date and having it sorted. He secured the Primrose Suite, one of the bridal suites in the original building, with a balcony and stained-glass bathroom windows, a junior-suite sized layout and ceilings at least 12 feet high. The Diamond welcome amenity of Texas pecan cookies was requested for Saturday but arrived only after a room-service burger order, though the hot fresh-baked cookies were worth the wait and a second bag was waiting at Sunday checkout. Cafe breakfast food was good but service was surprisingly average for the rate, with an empty coffee mug and a reluctant table move, and two burned-out bulbs in the suite were quickly fixed; he still called the historic hotel a surprisingly good choice. Status is recorded as unknown because the review uses the legacy Diamond tier name, which has no canonical slug.

One of the worst rooms in 20 years, at nearly $400 a night during ACL. An hour-plus at the desk got a decent one.
