Elites can check in at the 22nd-floor Victoria Lounge, skipping the crowded lobby. The west tower has direct street access, and the east does not.

Skyline views from the harbor-front promenade right outside, in an area nicer than Wan Chai or Tsim Sha Tsui. Second favorite of the Hyatts tried.

One Duck Lane, the new buffet in the old Farmhouse space, has slow service and waits. Liked Cruise's made-to-order better, but still coming back.

With Farmhouse closed for refurbishment, breakfast moved to Cruise as a semi-buffet. Some of the same chefs, much the same food, maybe even better.

    Honoured

A Globalist stayed two nights on a status run at around $100 per night shortly after the hotel rebranded from Hotel Vic, during a period of unrest when Hong Kong occupancy was under 20 percent. He was in a corner room with harbour views but was not upgraded to a suite and said there was no upgrade at check-in. Breakfast was taken in the lounge, with fresh fruit, hot items, pastries, charcuterie and an omelet and crepe station. A 4 p.m. checkout was offered, though staff then called at the standard checkout time and housekeeping came by around 2:30 p.m. unsure he was staying late. He also fought a refund for one night after a flight cancellation, with the hotel first asking for proof and then offering the money back in a month, and he called the tiny pool appalling, with an hour wait for one of about a dozen seats even in a nearly empty hotel.
