  Guest was among the first to stay in the hotel's newly refurbished suite, reportedly the only one completed so far and used by only a few people, including the president of Hyatt. The 1970s-style brown-and-orange decor did not impress, the bathroom mixed about five wall materials, and the shallow sink splashed the wallpaper every time the faucet ran, a water-damage risk expected to be fixed in later suites. The tub was short but deeper than average with rainfall and handheld showers, and even housekeeping had only the same tiny low-power hair dryers. The suite was judged fine but not worth going out of the way for; the post does not say whether it was booked or an upgrade, and no elite status is stated in the post text.

  A guest stayed just over three weeks in February and used Diamond suite upgrades (Diamond was the legacy top tier, recorded as unknown because it has no canonical slug) for a 7th-floor suite in the Napili building facing the pool and ocean, valuing the two separate living areas and TVs and the view despite others calling suite upgrades here a waste. Check-in was warm and the Regency Club staff were excellent, with a club breakfast of fresh pineapple, papaya and yoghurt; parking and the resort fee were waived on this trip. Downsides were two days without water, with no warning of the second outage even though staff knew it was coming (money and points were given in compensation), and Japengo bringing entrees before the first course was finished so food went cold, which a free dessert did not fix. The guest was already booked to return the following February.
