Staying three nights on a Globalist Guest of Honor certificate for a birthday trip, the reviewer received no room upgrade and stayed in standard king room 2231 on the 22nd floor, but did get Regency Club access, which he called quite useful. The club served an evening reception from about 5 to 7 p.m. and a breakfast mixing American and Japanese items with a chef making omelettes he had each morning. He had emailed ahead about the birthday and found a welcome gift and letter waiting in the room. Cash rates were hard to find under $200 and often over $400 before nearly $100 in taxes and fees, against a Category 5 standard award of 20,000 points, and he recommended the hotel mainly on points as a Shinjuku base. His own elite status is not stated, so it is recorded as unknown, with Globalist benefits coming from the Guest of Honor booking.

A Globalist checking in after work at the newly renovated hotel had his status acknowledged at the main desk and was confirmed upgraded to a Park View Deluxe Room with club access overlooking Shinjuku Chuo Park. Globalist recognition was understated: no fruit platter or wine, just a small Kuromoji aroma pillow mist left on the bed as the Globalist gift. Breakfast for Globalists is now served in the Regency Club from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m. with Western and Japanese options, and the full buffet at Crossroads Kitchen is notably no longer included, a shift from earlier stays. The renovated club's evening service from 5 to 7 p.m. offered quality canapes and sparkling wine in a calm space he contrasted with the crowded Hilton Tokyo lounge across the road, and he called the hotel the clear winner in Nishi-Shinjuku for Globalists. His Globalist status is strongly evidenced by the status acknowledgement and Globalist-only amenity rather than stated in a single line.
