A 2018 stay, soon after the hotel joined Marriott. The welcome gift has since dropped from a macaron and chocolate box to a fruit bowl.

One of Southeast Asia's best lounges that year, with made-to-order cocktails, plus a TWG tea set. Would stay regularly if the company budget allowed.

A Titanium member booked three nights in July 2019 as two separate reservations, two cash nights for $717 total and a third night for 60,000 points, and applied Suite Night Awards only to the first two nights aiming for a Marina Bay View Suite. He stayed in a Marina Bay View Suite on the 20th floor, the highest floor with those suites, and because the awards did not cover the final night a room move was expected; the check-in agent kept his word and proactively blocked a Deluxe Suite a few doors down for that last night as a courtesy. Titanium status brought free buffet breakfast at Beach Road Kitchen, which he called far better than any other hotel breakfast he had had, plus Executive Lounge access used on the last morning, and coconut chocolates were waiting as a welcome amenity. He called it the best hotel he had ever stayed at apart from all-suite resorts, with the freezing 18th-floor pool the only letdown.

Travelling shortly after New Year, a Marriott Platinum Premier Elite member, now Titanium, arrived close to midnight after a flight from Hanoi and asked about an upgrade, but was simply assigned a Deluxe King Room, room 908 on the 9th floor, with the hotel thought to be full. His status did bring Executive Lounge access, with a choice of breakfast in the lounge for exclusivity or the Beach Road Kitchen for variety; he used both over a three-day stay and rated the Beach Road Kitchen spread the most extensive he had seen. A welcome amenity of Southeast Asian cakes and pastries was waiting in the pantry. He praised the spacious base room, the 18th-floor outdoor pool and the lounge, noted cash rates around $250 to $300, and said he would almost certainly return.
